We built this decorative heater around a 400V, 2500W halogen lamp. The goal? Punch in a tight space. It throws off serious heat without taking up a lot of room. The 300mm tube focuses the warmth right where you want it. And the 400V rating is a smart move—it keeps the current lower than 230V units. That means you can run smaller wiring, cut down on voltage drop, and worry less about hot spots at the connections. This is a point-of-use heater, so the power density is intentionally high. Just plan your cooling and clearances before you install.
The Stuff That Holds Up
Inside the quartz tube, the halogen cycle keeps output steady over time. We run the filament hotter, which lets the halogen pull the tungsten back onto the filament. The result? Less blackening and a longer, more stable life. The quartz coating handles thermal shock and keeps UV contained. That protects nearby parts and keeps the lamp from burning out early. At the end of the tube, you get an R7s straight-line, two-pin ceramic base. It’s made to take the heat and gives you a simple, drop-in wire-up. You get a solid mechanical lock and a dependable electrical joint—even in tight housings.
How It Feels in the Real World
When you need fast, directional heat without a bulky chassis, this halogen heater delivers. It warms up quickly and throws focused infrared warmth, so comfort happens fast. The 400V design cuts current, which simplifies internal wiring and helps you keep the footprint small.
